Malawi Chapter
YASA in Malawi has been active since 2015 but has not yet been formally registered. Preparations are ongoing to formalise the country chapter by attaching it to the National Statistics Office in Malawi.
Among the key focus areas of YASA-Malawi is to promote women’s participation in statistics in addition to the general objective of building the capacity of all young Statisticians and demographers in various areas, which include supporting and promoting the writing of evidence-based research papers, data analysis and research dissemination for YASA members.
YASA Malawi seeks to forge partnerships with several local and international organisations, which include the National Statistics Office, the University of Malawi, and other statistics associations and professional bodies carrying a similar mandate. Currently, YASA Malawi has 12 confirmed membership and is still working towards recruiting more members.
