Nigeria Chapter
YASA in Nigeria is known as YAS-Nigeria. Its aim is to build the capacity and empower young statisticians with skills necessary for national development.
In line with this aim, YASA-Nigeria has put in place several capacity-building programmes, which include outreach programmes (to schools and universities), statistical literacy drivers to be done through organising competitions in tertiary institutions, virtual meetings and conferences/workshops to share research and allow participation of young statisticians for professional growth.
YASA-Nigeria is also keen on partnering with various local organizations with which they share a similar mandate, such as the national statistics office.
